Hace ocho a\u00f1os, un peque\u00f1o grupo de empresas relacionadas con la acuicultura tuvo la idea de constituirse como cl\u00faster para cooperar entre s\u00ed y responder a los retos que afrontaba el sector. Su idea era promover la competitividad y la sostenibilidad de una industria que es trascendental para garantizar la seguridad alimentaria global. Hoy en d\u00eda, Acuiplus cuenta con 28 miembros y es una referencia tanto en los procesos comerciales como de investigaci\u00f3n o innovaci\u00f3n. Charlamos de todo ello con Yolanda Morales, Cl\u00faster Manager de Acuiplus.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00bfC\u00f3mo naci\u00f3 la idea de montar el cl\u00faster?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

El <\/span>cl\u00faster<\/a> surge como iniciativa de un grupo de empresas representativas de la cadena de valor de la acuicultura en Catalu\u00f1a, con el apoyo del <\/span>Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n y Tecnolog\u00eda Alimentarias (IRTA)<\/a>. Todas ellas pretend\u00edan desarrollar un espacio de encuentro en el que los proveedores de servicios de acuicultura, de diferentes especies, pudiesen poner en com\u00fan los desaf\u00edos del mercado, reforzar su capacidad de internacionalizaci\u00f3n e incrementar los niveles de competitividad. Y nada m\u00e1s crearse el Cluster, en 2014, comenz\u00f3 a atraer a nuevos miembros de diferentes puntos geogr\u00e1ficos de Espa\u00f1a.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 necesidades tiene el sector?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Los retos del sector son muchos, pero los podemos clasificar en torno a 4 grandes grupos: ambiental, social, econ\u00f3mico \u2013 productivo y de gobernanza.<\/p>\n

En el primero de ellos tiene que ver con el desarrollo y la adopci\u00f3n de <\/span>buenas pr\u00e1cticas ambientales<\/strong> <\/span>y con la adaptaci\u00f3n al cambio clim\u00e1tico. Aqu\u00ed destacamos el esfuerzo en investigaci\u00f3n para preservar el bienestar animal, junto a nuevas formas de alimentaci\u00f3n. Y una optimizaci\u00f3n del uso de los recursos naturales. Pero tambi\u00e9n la internacionalizaci\u00f3n y la apertura de nuevos mercados.<\/p>\n

Respecto al <\/span>\u00e1mbito social<\/strong>, perseguimos una mayor profesionalizaci\u00f3n del sector a trav\u00e9s del refuerzo de programas formativos cercanos a las necesidades de las empresas. Ese es uno de los grandes temas en los que tenemos que trabajar juntos en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os las instituciones acad\u00e9micas, el sector y la administraci\u00f3n p\u00fablica.<\/p>\n

En la <\/span>esfera econ\u00f3mica<\/strong> <\/span>necesitamos mayores esfuerzos en la l\u00ednea de los que ya se est\u00e1n a realizando para sensibilizar y promocionar los productos procedentes de la acuicultura. Y fortalecer el papel de la cadena de valor del sector.<\/p>\n

Y por \u00faltimo, <\/span>en cuanto a gobernanza<\/strong>, son necesarias pol\u00edticas acordes al sector y sus necesidades. Que estas evolucionen al mismo ritmo que lo hace el sector, con el fin de poder desarrollar nuevas especies y nuevos sistemas de producci\u00f3n. Nos referimos tambi\u00e9n al acceso a licencias.<\/p>\n

En la l\u00ednea de lo mencionado anteriormente podemos hacer referencia, entre otros, a la percepci\u00f3n de un consumidor cada vez m\u00e1s conocedor y cr\u00edtico, que favorece productos m\u00e1s sostenibles; a los efectos del cambio clim\u00e1tico; al desarrollo tecnol\u00f3gico aplicado a los procesos de optimizaci\u00f3n de la acuicultura; y sin duda, a la atracci\u00f3n del talento.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00bf<\/strong>Qu\u00e9 papel puede jugar la acuicultura en la seguridad alimentaria?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Tal como se indica en el Informe SOFIA de la FAO<\/a> \u201creconocemos que la salud de nuestro mundo, as\u00ed como nuestra propia salud y seguridad alimentaria futura, dependen de nuestra manera de tratar a este planeta azul \u201c<\/em>. La acuicultura invierte y trabaja sin cesar en el desarrollo de productos saludables y con altos niveles de nutrici\u00f3n. La reducci\u00f3n de pescado de las actividades extractivas ser\u00e1, sin duda, sustituida por la acuicultura.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00bf<\/strong>Qu\u00e9 impacto tiene la actividad acu\u00edcola en la cadena de valor?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Desde una perspectiva general, la acuicultura es un sector en constante innovaci\u00f3n y altamente tecnol\u00f3gico, que trabaja en el desarrollo de una estrategia bien formada a lo largo de toda la cadena de valor.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, esta tendencia de una cadena de valor s\u00f3lida y estructurada, important\u00edsima para el crecimiento del sector, no tiene la visibilidad que requiere siendo un factor clave para el \u00e9xito de la producci\u00f3n. De esta misma manera, la evoluci\u00f3n, tendencias o cambios en la producci\u00f3n repercuten en los eslabones de la cadena de valor.<\/p>\n

\u00bf<\/strong>C\u00f3mo podemos conseguir que la acuicultura sea una actividad sostenible?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Consideramos la sostenibilidad no como un fin en si mismo, sino como un camino al que hay que ir acomod\u00e1ndose constantemente. Y para conseguirlo debemos adoptar medidas con menor impacto ambiental; favorecer la creaci\u00f3n de empleo profesionalizado; gestionar correctamente los recursos; y desarrollar una actividad econ\u00f3mica competitiva, entre otras cuestiones.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00bfHacia d\u00f3nde est\u00e1 avanzando el sector de los piensos?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Dentro de la acuicultura, y de manera ligada a la seguridad alimentaria y los piensos, se ha regulado y restringido el uso de antioxidantes sint\u00e9ticos. Eso ha hecho crecer el inter\u00e9s y la demanda por antioxidantes y productos de origen natural. No solo por parte de los consumidores, sino tambi\u00e9n por parte de la industria.<\/p>\n

El sector tecnol\u00f3gico ofrece una grand\u00edsima contribuci\u00f3n a la sostenibilidad de la acuicultura. No solo con la integraci\u00f3n de nuevas tecnolog\u00edas que redundan en un mejor aprovechamiento del espacio y los recursos. Sino tambi\u00e9n con la alta especializaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica, que es un factor clave para la modernizaci\u00f3n del sector. El desarrollo de sistemas aut\u00f3nomos de alimentaci\u00f3n de peces, la monitorizaci\u00f3n de par\u00e1metros del agua, o las plataformas de bajo consumo, muchas de ellas alimentadas con energ\u00edas renovables, son algunas iniciativas que impulsan una acuicultura rentable y sostenible. \u00bf<\/strong>En qu\u00e9 proyectos est\u00e1 involucrado actualmente Acuiplus?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

En estos momentos, Acuiplus participa en 2 proyectos. El m\u00e1s reciente es <\/span>Acuisost<\/a>, que est\u00e1 focalizado en el uso de estrategias nutricionales para una acuicultura m\u00e1s resiliente y sostenible. Acuisost promueve la sostenibilidad de la acuicultura mediante el uso de estrategias nutricionales basadas en la formulaci\u00f3n de piensos con nuevos ingredientes y aditivos tecnol\u00f3gicos. Es un proyecto financiado con los fondos <\/span>NextGenerationEU<\/a> <\/span>en el marco del <\/span>Plan Recuperaci\u00f3n, Transformaci\u00f3n y Resiliencia<\/a> <\/span>(PRTR), a trave\u0301s del Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentacio\u0301n.<\/p>\n

El otro proyecto es <\/span>REDAQUA<\/a>, que busca el fortalecimiento del trabajo en red, la profesionalizaci\u00f3n y la formaci\u00f3n en el \u00e1mbito de la acuicultura. Todo ello a trav\u00e9s de la innovaci\u00f3n y la transferencia de conocimiento. El objetivo de la red es reforzar y potenciar el trabajo, la transferencia de experiencias y la colaboraci\u00f3n entre la comunidad cient\u00edfica, los centros de formaci\u00f3n y el sector empresa. Busca incidir en la formaci\u00f3n, la investigaci\u00f3n y la innovaci\u00f3n para reforzar la competitividad del sector en torno a la acuicultura sostenible. Y est\u00e1 encuadrado en la <\/span>Convocatoria para el Fomento e Impulso de la Sostenibilidad Pesquera y Acu\u00edcola<\/a>. Dentro del marco del <\/span>Programa Pleamar<\/a> <\/span>y trav\u00e9s de la <\/span>Fundaci\u00f3n Biodiversidad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pero m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de proyectos concretos, financiados con fondos externos, ACUIPLUS apuesta por sus propios proyectos. Como por ejemplo los ya conocidos ciclos \u201cConversemos sobre Acuicultura\u201d, que realizamos peri\u00f3dicamente como foros de discusi\u00f3n sobre temas de relevancia. O los proyectos internos con nuestros socios para el refuerzo de la internacionalizaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como las medidas para garantizar la sostenibilidad de la cadena de valor.<\/p>\n

Al mismo tiempo, Acuiplus preside la Plantaforma de Clusters de la <\/span>EATIP<\/a>, con lo que apoya la dinamizaci\u00f3n de acciones conjuntas a nivel europeo.<\/p>\n
