    According to the figures given by the United Nations and the World Resources Institute, in 2050 we will have to produce 70% more food to meet global demand.<\/strong><\/h6>\n

    Currently, livestock consume 20% of the proteins we produce per year and is coming into direct competition with human consumption for water use, arable land and soil resources. To this we have to add the depletion of the fish populations, which are a vital food source.<\/span><\/p>\n

    OPTIMISING RESOURCES<\/h2>\n

    By replacing or complementing other traditional protein sources, based on livestock and fishing, with insect defatted powder, Tebrio can help compensate for the extra food volume we will need to supply 2 billion extra people in 2050.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    We will also help reduce the pressure on marine populations. And we will optimise the use of water and soil, in addition to minimising the impact of the farming sector on global greenhouse gas emissions, which is estimated at 25% of global emissions.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Neither should we forget that insects form part of the natural diet of fish, birds and some mammals. And they contain high levels of essential proteins and nutrients, optimum for animal growth.<\/span><\/p>\n
